Privacy notice
This short notice describes the closed beta while a full privacy notice and data review are being completed.
What the beta uses
Gafree uses account details needed to sign in and records learning activity needed to show the service and its history.
- Parent accounts are invited first; children cannot create their own accounts.
- Optional chat and wellbeing features are off by default during review.
- Optional family adventures store a selected experience, target, agreement version, status, timestamps and qualifying quiz references. Access is restricted to the proposing parent and student while their link is approved. No new payment or health information is requested.
- Password reset secrets are stored as hashes and are not written to application logs.
- Optional Quran and Islamic Studies record lesson progress like other subjects; taking a lesson does not declare a religious affiliation. Arabic text and fonts are served by Gafree. Only when you press Play is a recording requested from verses.quran.com, which receives normal connection information such as your IP address. Gafree does not send account details, answers or voice recordings to the audio provider. External source links have their own privacy policies.
How information is handled
We aim to collect only what the current beta needs, restrict access, and avoid putting personal details in logs.
Retention periods, access requests, correction and deletion processes are under review. Contact us if you need help with information connected to an account.
No hidden product promise
This interim page explains current product behaviour. It is not a claim that every privacy or legal review is complete.
